Just to the north of Knoxvile is the suburb of Hardin Valley, TN. Hardin Valley is one of the fastest growing areas of Knoxville. Situated between Farragut and Oak Ridge, Hardin Valley sits in a beautiful valley surrounded by lush rolling hills in a rural setting. The beauty and serenity of a rural area in a location very convenient to any part of Knoxville. Hardin Valley is also home to Pellissippi State Technical Community College.

Hardin Valley real estate includes primarily single family homes. The starting price for a home in the Hardin Valley area is $180,000 and can go up to $800,000. The most common price range of single family homes in Hardin Valley is between $200,000 and $300,000. Hardin Valley will soon be home to The Village at Hardin Valley retail and residential complex, located on Pellissippi Parkway and Hardin Valley Road (across the street from Pellissippi State College). The Knox County School district serves Hardin Valley and all of Knox County. The schools that specifically serve Hardin Valley are Hardin Valley Elementary, Karns Middle, Karns High and Hardin Valley High (2008). The new Hardin Valley High School will accommodate 2100 students and is scheduled for completion July 2008. There are also several private schools near Hardin Valley: Farragut Montessori School, Kiddie Kottage Learning Center, Greenway School, St. John Neuman Catholic School.
Recreation
Hardin Valley has many nearby parks, greenways and bodies of water. Big Foot Park, located on Joe Daniels Road has 130 acres of hiking and mountain bike trails. Guinn Road Park has picnic areas and boat access. Hickory Creek Park, located on Everett Road, has picnic areas, soccer fields and boat access. Knox County Sportspark, located on Oak Ridge Highway, has several softball and baseball fields. Melton Hill Park, located on William Bend Road, has 112 acres of playgrounds, picnic tables, boat access and fishing. The Pellissippi greenway trail starts at Pellissippi State College and runs south for 1.5 miles.

Transportation
The Knoxville are has an extensive highway system for a city this size. Interstate 40 runs right through the center of Knoxville and connects with interstate 75. I-75 south will take you to Chatanooga in an hour and a half and Atlanta in 3 hours. I-75 north will take you to Lexington, Kentucky in about an hour and a half. Traveling west on I-40 will get you to Nashville in about 2 hours. Traveling east on I-40 will get you to Ashville, NC in about an hour and a half. Knoxville also has public bus service through KAT (Knoxville Area Transit). The closest airport is McGee Tyson (TYS) located in south Knoxville near Alcoa, TN about a 15 minute drive from downtown Knoxville. Hardin Valley is located off of the Pellissippi Parkway (TN-162) and is also part of the area for the proposed TDOT Knoxville Regional Parkway.
